I've just started reading this book. Enjoying it so far, but one thing puzzles me: as a Scot I can't understand why the main character's Scottish father has the surname McCloud🤔? This is the spelling for many Macleods in the US and Canada, not the spelling in Scotland where you find the original MacLeod spelling. Surely Hislop knows this?
