The central premise is very similar to my short story, "The Man Who Married a Tree," which was published in a Penguin anthology in 2006. However, this movie is disappointing and highly unrealistic. The screenplay is terrible, and the movie drags quite a bit. The story has quite a few plot holes. The character of the protagonist is also inconsistent.
