Jessica Guy

I recently listened to the audio book version of this novel, and it did not disappoint! The author’s talent for descriptive story telling immediately picked me up and sat me down right next to the characters. I could imagine, the sights, the sounds, the smells, even the textures of everything around me. This story is not an easy one, but it’s one worth telling, and the sheer amount of cultural detail and history meant that even though I knew very little of that time, I was able to quickly understand the place I found myself in and connect with the characters in a very personal way. Loved it and well worth a read (or a listen)!
