It demonstrates the importance of acknowledging the signs of clinical depression in teens. Parents should never ignore their children’s cry for help, even if it is hard to accept the fact that it is-not a physical illness but a mental one.
One of the things I do question is the scene where Nicholas is going to stay for treatment or released in his parent’s care. I find it hard to believe that the patient would be in the room begging his parents to take him home. However, I do not know what the actual procedure is. It did seem a bit contrived.
I disagree with another reviewer who thought that the young actor playing Nicholas was nit strong enough. I thought he did an excellent job portraying a teen suffering from clinical depression
