if you like monster flicks, this isn't the worst film of the genre. there are plot armour thicker than the spiders bullet and missile (but Bazooka downs it. lol) poof carapace. pro: free to watch on certain streaming sites. b-grade film. some relatively known actors. better love story than twilight con: plot armour. so why the 4 star rating? I like b-grade films. if Alien were made today for example, people would say it's 80s/90's FX were bad. I have some film making experience and have worked for TV stations doing editing and production. so I can appreciate films for what it's worth. and it deserves at the least 4 stars for not being twilight. in all seriousness it was far from bad. it wont win major awards for it, and that is fine by me. if they make more in this "universe" then make the plot armour less thick. if a missile cannot finish the spider, a Bazooka certainly shouldn't be able to either.

this is a pretty good movie. not a 5 star movie, far better than a 3 star movie. 4 seems about right, well within the goldilocks zone of entertaining and immersive. it could have been a bit longer inho it'd get 5 stars for sure. Will Smith plays a middle aged DIA agent (think alt universe CIA) and his handler gives him bad info that eliminates a VIP HVT, then it's akin to the fugitive (Harrison Ford) as well as Terminator. it has a few bits of tech that the military have been using for over a decade now, but movies are always behind the curve (Terminator being an exception) and give the audience a inside look at what armed services both domestic and foreign have been using to adapt to technology of the "future" (present) for example the drone scene in a training exercise. none of the actors are unbelievable in their roles and the director/producer chose the right people for the job. if you like shooters and science fiction movies give this a go, least of all it'll give you an afternoon of relatively enjoyable content. if you suffer decision paralysis like I do, boot this movie up. if the above doesn't sound like something you'd enjoy- try something else as there wont be anything for you here.
