Cinematic masterpiece. I was already half biased against it because I dislike subtitled movies, but in the first few minutes was intrigued. The pace of the movie was excellent, just enough time to get to understand the family unit's composition. It wasn't scary, but it was creepy. I thought it to be comedic, turns out it was a tragedy. I mean, what more do you want from a movie? It was moving.

What a great freaking movie!!! I don't have many words I just know I went on a very wild ride to hell and back--or should I say back and to hell?? Lol

I had to come back after series finale... by ep 9 I was feeling frustrated bc I felt like they were stretching the main storyline out, but then they gave us a what felt like a much longer and most satisfying finale! I'm sooo happy to have Dexter, Deb, Harry, Masuka, Angel...hell, even laguerta in my life again! So looking forward to next season, but first, I'm definitely rewatching s1! They got the feeling back! Just watched s1e5, I'm excited for what's to come. Michael c. Hall narrating is great! It isn't like New Blood (thankfully-bc wow that was awful) where they took the entire season to just jumble everything up and had Dexter mess up the code. This is how he started applying the code. Apart from Dexter, I never saw Debra as weak, she was always the type to tell it how it is, her portrayal as Dexter's ghost was bad for me--having her going against her brother like that in New Blood (once again, ugh, New Blood was trash). In this show, however Deb is once again, endearing, bc she's the teen version of Debra Morgan pre-police department. She's a bit lost and you can see how she felt so ignored... Which speaks to how she excelled into police work (seeing her father and brother get into it, mom died younger) she had to be independent, she had to be in-your-face to get their attention... Which continues on how we know her to be. And Harry (who doesn't love Christian Slater?!) he was going to be tough imo. The venerated Harry. They are doing well by Harry though... And it really helps they picked Christian Slater bc it did affect my predisposition on their choice. Young Batista ✅ Young LaGuerta (still a ball busting pain in the ass lol) ✅ Young Masuka (still pervy, and has the laugh down) ✅ This show is doing right by our Dearly Beloved Dexter. ❤️

First season was a tough watch. I hung in there somehow... But WOW!! The second season is such a reward! I'm rewatching the entire thing now. And I cannot wait for S3.
