The Maid by Nita Prose offers an endearing protagonist, Molly. There is no way you do not feel for her- cheer her, support her, sigh with her, fear for her. Her friends become your friends and her enemies become yours. Her undeniable innocence and on the spectrum behaviour is unapologetic and never characterised in the book. Molly just is. You’ll also relate with her if you have experienced solitude, being misunderstood, choosing the wrong people to trust and love. The mystery is a cherry on top. Read this book if you, like me, used to love reading and life happened to you. If you keep buying books and never get to finish one, or if you need a little break from the everyday pressures. Molly is worth it!
