I think people who didn't like this movie or didn't get it are simply not intellectually experienced. Those who need explanations and loose ends tied up are limited in their capacity for metaphorical thinking. Those who believe that the feminism depicted is archaic or over the top don't get the deeper implications and dynamics of a real relationship. I watched this movie prepared to hate it because of the reviews I had read and was stunned by the depth of understanding of not only the writer and screenwriter, but I have a new found respect for Olivia Wilde's slick debut. For those who blame the admittedly bad chemistry and disconnectedness between characters, they will never even manage this much sophistication in a first project. As an artist and creator, there isn't much I don't like as I recognize real people behind each work good or bad. And when a piece of work is about one's creativity and not money, it is always valuable, doesn't always need a reality check and needs a decent amount of magical thinking to understand the psyche or philosophy behind our existence.
