I really tried to like this book. A literature professor recommended it to me, so I figured it would be something worth reading. But after about 50 pages, I just couldn’t keep going.
The writing felt messy and all over the place. There didn’t seem to be any real story or structure — just a bunch of strange, disconnected scenes. It seemed like the author was trying really hard to sound smart or artistic by using big, unusual words, but to me, it just came off as confusing and overdone.
Some people clearly enjoy this style and see something in it that I don’t. But personally, it didn’t work for me at all. It felt more like bad poetry than a novel, and I just couldn’t get into it. I’m giving it a low rating because it wasn’t enjoyable or readable for me.
