This is one of the best books i have read. As a small scale writer, i felt that this book is different for every reader, especially teenagers. It's a story about two average american high school students; Hannah Baker and Clay Jenson. It is hard to say who is the protagonist, because both of their characters are equally important, the story's perfect equilibrium is lost if one of them is absent. The story has 13 people who plays a part in her death and Clay is one of them. The set of tapes are passed down from one person to the other. As each of them finishes listening their whole lives change, they know about the immoral things they did and moreover they know what they did. Unlike others, Clay didn't do anything and i feel like that is the biggest mistake of the story, worse than all the other's. He makes it clear in the story that he wanted to reach out but he never did. If he had, she would be alive. This makes him soil himself in guilt. The story effectively describes how selfish and greedy we all are, how there is a Hannah and Clay inside of us and the fact that no matter how small your fault is, it will always snowball into an avalanche. I recommend that you read the book rather than watching the series, you will thank me later. This book changed my perspective of how i treated people and it might change yours too.
