Great to see Asimov’s Foundation series FINALLY make an audio-visual debut. However, what is with the post-modern rubbish that has been substituted for the original plot? Hari Seldon’s character has been butchered. Further, we are now forced to meander through irrelevant post-modern minutiae plots that dissipate from the fundamental storyline of the Foundation’s plot of ‘desperation to survive and and thrive in a hostile environment of decay and chaos’. Instead, we are subjected to ‘fairy-like’ themes and moments of Fantacia from the 80’s blockbuster hit, The Neverending Story. We are not introduced to a universe of Evolution, Science, Economics, Politics and Militarism but whimsy with the occasional adult theme.
Reasonable casting but please hold true to the original storyline. Forget the post-modern BS and just stick to bringing to life the original story arc with minor subplots around the Foundation. At the point of Foundation, it is not about Cleon, some weird subplot around Salvor Hardin or Gaal Dornick. Gaal Dornick is Hardin’s mother? What warm tripe is this?
Just do the job of sticking to and building the original storyline. Save the Zhuzh. Thanks.
