I adore this game. I'm not sure why it is getting so many mixed reviews. The things people criticise, like just clicking on the map to jump between planets, are a major bonus to me. You can go get in the ship and fly around if you want to, or you can just crack on with the mission.
I love No Man's Sky but they're different propositions. This game has far more detailed interiors and has interesting moral conundrums. I have been playing for around 40 hours and haven't touched the sides yet. I haven't modded anything or built a starship. At the moment I'm busy being a spy in the pirates. The worlds are super detailed. You can play your way. Negotiate and stealth or shoot your way through. Trade. Be an agent. Or be a pirate and steal.
There are great stories for everything. I normally hate these types of games, I prefer more action, but I've been hooked right in. Some mission quests happen in such immaculate locations I marvel at the attention to detail and lack of repetition.
The shooting is fun. There are lots of guns and skills. And the flying is fun. And exploring is fun. I found a massive starship landed when wandering around, shot everyone and took it. It's mine now. And I love it.
It is an incredible achievement. Well done to all concerned.
