If you want to watch another cliche series with stereotypical characters in stereotypical situations that bear no resemblance to the book, then this one is for you. I think the actors did a wonderful job, despite the unimaginative writing. What is sad is that the book was beautifully written, imaginative, and unique–so much potential for a great series. But unfortunately, someone thought they had an even better idea. So dummied down, so predictable, so disappointing–yet no doubt there will be another season. The only upside is Bonnie Garmus will get some well-deserved royalties.
