Junk movie that was obviously made for the dumbed-down American audience. Patriarchal cliche love subplot between Pitts character and the female lead. Quite disappointing how they wrote her to be weak and easy - fully compromised her position within the team. No woman in real life would ever throw herself at Sonny Hayes right after she said she doesn't sleep with drivers. Pathetic and weak. The race scenes were a joke and unrealistic. I would assume F1 had some creative control and wouldn't want to put this junk out there, but again, I guess they were targeting the average American who they are trying to convert from WWE AND NASCAR. This was a poor racing movie. I prefer Ford v Ferrari and Days of Thunder. Even Talladega Nights was better.

Absolutely not worthy of the palme d'or. In fact, this devalues the PDO and questions the credibility of Cannes FF. Weak predictable plot, repetitive gratuitous party and sex scenes, and lacking depth. The last scene was a poor attempt at film art and predictable. Unfortunately it was this scene that probably won over the misguided judges at Cannes. 💩
