I was pretty disappointed with the movie. Bryan Stevenson’s book captures the poignancy, intimacy, and tragedy of these emotions and experiences. Unfortunately, the movie failed to depict some of the most vivid, impactful anecdotes from the novel as well as neglecting to accurately portray the characters’ depth of personality. If you see this movie, I implore you to view it with a grain of salt: it in no way does justice to the disappointment, sadness, inspiration, hope, and love the book engenders. Thank you.
