We loved the movie - Good actors and the action was great, I was at the edge of my seat a few times.
I really liked the original and thought I might resent this remake, but it’s not a remake - it’s just a different version - and different enough that there were surprises, and it felt fresh and young.

I saw this movie many years ago and it really spoke to me. Connie Stevens was so pretty and Troy Donohue was so dreamy. Dorothy McGuire played the mother. Good actors. Society morals were very different back in the 50s and 60s - this came out in 1961.
I’m a senior and remember this movie fondly. I am glad TMN is showing it again this Friday.

I just finished reading The Four Winds and have pretty mixed feelings about it. On the one hand I got right into the story and enjoyed it so much for about 3/4 of the book. However, the continual hard times and terrible living conditions the family found in California started to wear on me.
I am not very happy about the ending of the book - Spoiler alert - was it really necessary to have this kind of sad ending? And I thought Loreda returning to California was unrealistic - I’m sure she would never want to go back there in a million years. I certainly wouldn’t.
The story does graphically show the suffering and the hardships that the dustbowl migrants to California suffered in the 1930’s. Really, I’ll never forget it. There’s something unsatisfying about reading such a lengthy book with so much suffering though. I kept on hoping for some happiness and settling into a better situation, which never came.

I enjoyed the action and the characters characters in this series - but I found Doron's personality to be too aggressive and rather laughable that he portrays himself as the ladies man. It was not believable that those two attractive women would find him so desirable. The audience is asked to suspend belief at this one.

It’s good to see Raylan again and there is some good action at times. I think there’s way too much time spent on the main bad guy - his banter, and planning of schemes with other bad guys. Except for the Albanians, I don’t find the bad guys compelling in this show and lose interest in them pretty quick. I don’t even like to look at the screen sometimes because the bad guy is in his jockey white underwear a lot with a sock stuck in the front to make him look really bad. Just bad taste I think.
It’s not like the original Justified with Boyd Crowder and his crew who were pretty interesting and enjoyable. These guys are not.
I don’t find Raylan’s love interest with the lawyer very believable.
