The boy Sam is a misbehaving child from the start of the film. The mother states a few times that he is just like his father. (Even broke his cousin’s nose and wouldn’t leave her treehouse.) Oscar (dead father) is portrayed as Babadook, was abusive as Amelia fights his abuse even after his death. Oscar’s things are kept downstairs, where Babadook is kept. The worms being fed symbolize Oscar or The Babadook’s memory being dead and buried. Healing happy ending with Sam (The Magician) and his magic trick book curing his Mom symbolized with a white dove as Sam exclaims “Life is not always as it seems!”

Spoiler alert… I loved the dry comedy. A mother who has no help from her husband and difficult children finds solace in a nanny who was a figment of her imagination. Or was that little angel baby the one helping her???

Spoiler alert: Art is Vicki… Great flick, reflect… the gruesome murder by Vicki in the beginning. Art dresses like a woman in the middle, foreshadow. Finally, Art’s face hallucination jumping out of the wheelchair girl’s head at the end. Art is Vicki! The trailer for part 2 even says that they never found his body…

Interesting film with a crazy last half hour. I believe some overanalyze the title “Parasite”. Not plural. The father, allowing his family to be poor instead of working as a driver his whole life. His smell, his poor pizza box folding, his wife even called him a cockroach. The rest of the family had skills. He had no plan as self stated and lived in the basement like the “Parasite” before him. Costing the Kim Clan dearly.

I love good horror movies… This movie was a Pointless and disgusting, not deep or intriguing at all. 90 wasted minutes of my life in which I will never have back.
