I love the sport and have loved this game for years, but there is something very wrong with F1 22. I'll start with the annoying problems and work up to the critical ones. First, it doesn't look as good as last year's game; it definitely feels a little more video gamey. Just run Bahrain very quickly back to back in F1 21 and F1 22, and you'll see it. The tracks lights aren't as realistic, the grass on the side is off, the camera pans aren't as smooth, etc. I can see if they spent all of their time on the AI, but skip ahead to #3 for that. Secondly, F1 Life is pathetic. Who in the hell are they marketing that little addition to? Breaking Point last year wasn't a good add to the game, but it was 10x better than whatever this is supposed to be. Finally, something is very off about the AI. You're non-competitive in a top works car at a 70 in career mode. You blow right through your tires and fuel just staying with midfield teams. From a user standpoint, the car isn't accelerating correctly. You lose .6 to .7 seconds in straights to your teammate on identical tires/setup/etc. and without DRS. I could see that happening if you were running an automatic gear box, but that's not the case, and even then, you shouldn't lose .7 to an otherwise identical car without DRS. This can't just be the result of the new 2022 cars, this has to be buggy. In '21, I could be competitive with a McLaren or an Alpine on a 90 AI setting. It's almost as though the game designers are trying to figure out the cars as much as the actual teams. The whole game just feels off.
