It’s slow and rambling. None of the actors seem suited to their roles and appear almost embarrassed by what they’re doing. And don’t get me started on the awful Cosmo Jarvis! He really isn’t handsome romantic hero material and his style of speaking is very wooden and just plain weird!
All in all it just doesn’t work as either a comedy or a romantic tale.
