Was thoroughly enjoying this show until... until... episode 5. The opening was so utterly graphic I had to mute the sound just to endure it. It was nauseating. THEN...to find out it was Icheb so mutilated and tortured that Seven had to euthanize her own "son." This was such a disrespectful ending to an amazing character that we all loved in Voyager. Never, and I mean NEVER has Star Trek descended into such an abyss as to denigrate a beloved character, by destroying them in such a dishonorable manner.
Never has Star Trek felt it even remotely acceptable to let a main character be slaughtered. Star Trek has always been a class act. And that's why we love it. I mean I don't ever remember writers even allowing enemies to be so graphically tortured. Why? Bc again, Star Trek was a class act. It ALWAYS rose above the brutal mundane that appeals to weak minded viewers and it catered to an educated science fiction viewer.
Wow. Alex Kurtzman seriously needs mental help, bc after what I just saw. Dude's possibly a psychopath.
