Like slugging through wet cement. Long character descriptions in place of letting the characters reveal themselves. More dialogue, please! Fewer mind-numbing lists of adjectives, please! Too much description of what happens and not enough real action. Stereotypical scientists, academics, and law enforcement officers. Predictable villains and heroes. I doubt if many readers care about any of these characters as they read. I know I didn't. Live or die, "whatever". I forced myself through it but it was a tremendous bore.

I loved the first 1/3 of this book. The writing is good and the plot was intriguing until it got extremely complicated and just silly and stupid. Honestly, I finished it just out of curiosity to see how convoluted and ridiculous it would get, and it did get worse! A waste of 2 very good narrators. I give it 2 stars because the talented narrators made it easy on the ears and the establishment of the initial plot and characters was fine. Overall, though, it was the worst book I have listened to in years.
