I would like to share my thoughts on the recent release of “The Strangers: Chapter One.” Having just returned from the theater, I found that this version significantly differed from the original. Director Bryan Bertino did an exceptional job creating an authentic and sinister atmosphere in “The Strangers.” The 2008 film captivated audiences without relying on textbook horror movie clichés. It was far more sophisticated than simply having someone jump out and yell "boo." I don't want to go on too long, but I must say that the 2008 version was outstanding. In contrast, the new 2024 release felt more humorous than frightening.
