On a cinematic scale, a bit too Little House On The Prairie-ish. Not bad, but no academy award nominations coming. On a must-see scale however, what an amazing story on so many levels. The little Sarah's eventual luck aside, I don't think the plight of early black settlers can ever be told enough. I actually think this movie almost sugar coated probably what Sarah and her family (really) went through. Its a reminder of how our moral compass went through a very misguided period. Go see it....
