Here are a few issues from someone who has read the BOOK series ….without spoiling the TV series: This show would probably be okay.....if not for the fact it is supposed to be based off the books. Ormwood was a bad cop and was killed in Book 1 of the Series. Angie is a raging b***h in the books and mentally abusive to Will. Amanda, Evelyn & Faith are supposed to be white according to the book….why the unnecessary change? Will is supposed to be an athletic 6’ 3” & built….in the show he is small and Hispanic. Two of the shows in season one were actually based off the books but totally rewritten for the show to include characters & sub plots. The doctor at the hospital is supposed to be a female doctor (and a police widow) who throughout the series is in a relationship dance with Will and an important series character who actually was a carryover from the Grant County Series……yet they chose to rewrite it as a male doctor to be a Faith love interest. These are just a few of the issues of show versus books. If you are going to base a show off the books and use the characters from the books, don’t change everything about the characters too to bottom. And if you are going to rewrite stories from the books, they should be left out of the tv series completely.
