The best part in my opinion is the art style. It reflects a specific time in anime and I love the thought that went into matching the fashion with the characters personality. Other than the art though its very hard to find any sort of motive for why they torture this girl so much. The plot has many loopholes that really fall to the wayside. Instead we get background for all of the characters except for the main villain and the main character. I get its suppose to have this level of cruelty for a specific audience but it must be very niche because it can be triggering because of all the non-consensual physical contact/biting and the literal abuse she suffers constantly. She is slammed into walls and pushed onto the floor multiple times by different characters and is even attacked in a church. Its a tough watch if you like MCs who stand up for themselves or even an MC who just doesn't sacrifice herself at every chance for her abusers. The most concerning part was how as I was watching the show, I started to feel like the male characters showing the smallest amount of respect or basic kindness was romantic. This became very apparent in s2 which made the male characters easier to watch but still compared to most romance anime, it was still a very abusive dynamic.
