Extremely disappointed. Joaquin Phoenix's acting was lifeless, nothing extra. The movie was nothing more than a bouquet of scenes of war and love being changed multiple times. There was no character development at all, and the movie skipped important parts of history and Napoleon's life. I feel like the Movie made in 2002 was significantly better. In the end, Napoleon was portrayed as a military leader, who sent ten-thousands to death. Show me one military command from that time/area, who hasn't done the same, and show me a military commander who became an emperor and conquered the whole of Europe.
