This movie wasn't in any way "good", nor was it all the way "bad". The setting and ambiance were good. But the combination of poor story (not in any way faithful to the games), weird character mash-ups and bad VFX made this a fairly bad experience.
A bunch of inside jokes and throwbacks to the fans were kinda funny, but were definitively hammy and overused.
*slight spoiler*
The movie had me wondering the whole time: "Barry? Where's Barry?"
