If you are wanting anything near what the previous games have brought before then this a far cry. This would have been better as a stand-alone from the series. I believe this version is based on the platform preferred by Asian players where you HAVE to play as a ruler. You can't truly be in control as things such as conscription of troops is daunting to say the least as the A.I. makes it looks easy. I can't explain well enough but this one needs to allow you to have direct control again. I own most NES and ALL PS versions of this series and sorely wished I could get my money back. Tread lightly before purchasing this.
