This is a really interesting and fun look into the world of robotics, and more importantly, AI. It's clever and intriguing, but there are one or two episodes that are extremely badly thought through - one in particular that spends the entire episode in exposition rather than plot advancement. With that episode you really get the feeling of the scriptwriter rather heavy handedly laying out the character motives of each character so that there is an excuse for their next behaviour. A lot of the stuff between the family is a bit tedious and predictable, Toropov is an idiot generally and there is a genuinely naive presentation of complex ideas. Basically, where it comes to life is with Arisa. She is intriguing, interesting and you can't help wanting more of her. In some ways as it goes on it feels like Fatal Attraction with robots, but it doesn't fall into that line, but mixes quite a lot of genres - detective story, AI / Frankenstein story, kitchen sink drama, family breakdown drama, cyberpunk thriller - and in this way it keeps it fresh. I find it, in the end not entirely satisfying because of the poorly delineated characterisation - but Arisa, she's great.
