I've rewatched Closer (2004) more than twice, and the plot twist at the end still caught me by surprise. While the dialogue might not be entirely realistic and comes off a bit theatrical at times, the performances from the actors are excellent, and the portrayal of the characters is strong. Daniel is manipulative and emotionally abusive, which comes across clearly, and the constant arguing and emotional chaos are raw and intense. I appreciate that there’s no happy ending—each character faces the consequences of their actions. The ending leaves you hanging, which really makes you think: “If I were to make a sequel to this film, where would the story go next?”
