It is very realistic, and I have enjoyed it. However, if you just want to have fun and fly FSX is much better. Also, you can easily and freely download content and planes for FSX. An incredibly annoying thing about Flight Simulator is the constant updates. Many times I have wanted to just fly, but had to update this or that or the other thing. I am writing this as the game updates. It has taken probably an hour and a half to update and it still isn't done. All in all, stick to FSX for the fun of flying and playing. True, it may not be as realistic, but at least it plays well anytime you wish.
