Usually avoid watching bollywood movies set in the modern world becuz most of them turn out to have an exaggerated storyline with mediocre acting, overhyped and waste of time BUT I decided to watch this becuz of a random mention in reel, was too young when this movie came out so didn't know it existed and due to the re-release I watched it online. Now getting to the actual review, 3 idiots was my first ever movie and best in bollywood and till date no movie has ever made me feel and understand emotions and relate to the characters until I watched Sanam Teri Kasam. Watched Mawra Hocane in Pakistani dramas and grew fond of her acting and watching her in Sanam Teri Kasam made me realise it takes deep storytelling like this one to bring out the best potential in great actors like her. And the lead actor Harshvardhan set the bar high due to his micro expressions and body language, you could see the longing, pain, regret, love and loss everytime he interacted with Saru and her father. I was so happy the writer decided to make Inder a decent guy who went throughout stuff and acted out inside of a spoiled rich boy like most movies these days. Saru and Inder were a display of people who have actual feelings for each other instead of vulgar intentions. They showed a splendid tale of star crossed lovers who were judged by the society for simply being themselves (which showed the reality of Indian society) and in the movie we got to see forgiveness for both their parents which was satisfactory becuz in reality most parents never let go of their ego these days leading to lovestories having tragic end like Dhadak. My only hope when I started watching this movie was fir Inder's character to have a genuine heart and not take advantage of Saru and I was so glad to not have been disappointed, the only scene that broke my expectations just a bit was Inder pushing Saru and leaving her stranded, I expected a bit more of a heartfelt apology and a little reluctance to forgive would have been nice, I felt she let that go too quickly. On the other hand, I still liked how this scene also manged to show us that at the end of the day flaws are necessary. That is all. I wish more such movies are made becuz bollywood definitely needs it after all the cliche plots, lack of real talent and extreme nepotism that have taken over. To anyone who reads this, go watch the movie ⚠️ you will definitely cry, this is from someone who barely ever cried watching most movies. 💔🙏
