I find this movie extremely engaging, but lucking logic.
Why Jonathan, being portrayed as annoying, reckless and selfish teenager, out of sudden commits such unselfish act of attempting to save someone's child by risking his own?
Catherine's disclaimer doesn't make sense to me. Why a woman, who has been brutally raped all night and being in horrible pain, chooses to go to the beach just because her 4-5 years son asks for it, instead of rushing to the police or a hospital?! How she, as a reasonable woman as she was portrayed in the plot, doesn't realize that her raper and abuser can come back any time, can be still near by (and he was!), can abuse her again and may harm her son? Also, how is Jonathan's utterly expensive professional camera did not display bruises and bites on Catherine's body? How a woman being threatened and severely abused manages to pose with such last and relaxation to the abuser?
Catherine's disclaimer at the end doesn't gain much more sympathy to her character either. Does the person who raped you and then saved a life of your precious child by risking his own deserves to die?
Of course, this movie has so many virtues that make it worth watching, but I wish there was more logic in it.
