To me, this isn’t a metaphor about alienation or otherness—it’s a portrayal of perversion justified by a trauma narrative. To conflate neurodivergence, queerness or emotional pain/addiction/generational trauma with a need to harm is not just offensive—it's socially irresponsible and recklessly groups marginalized people together under one theme when these issues are extremely nuanced. Its tonedeaf to assume someone with any of these backgrounds would find these visuals to be a good metaphor for their experiences. Do better filmmakers at consulting your demographic before attempting to represent them.
