I watched this film because of Colton Tran, who I enjoy following. It suffers most from a ridiculously stupid script. The direction is fine as is the acting. If Tran had a bigger budget he could’ve had some more gross out scenes, but it’s obvious he had to make the best of what budget he had.
The biggest problem is the premise. Yes hyperthermia can cause hallucinations, but there is no reason why any of the main characters should had suffered from hyperthermia. They had multiple large winter coats, blankets, and an insulated cabin. When they started to fun out of firewood why didn’t anyone take the ax and go outside and cut down a tree?!!!! The house was surrounded by trees. Are you telling me there wasn’t any deadfall around the house?! This plot hole was so deep the entire movie falls into it.
I’m curious to see what Tran can do with a decent script and larger budget.
