the book atriculates everything i fear for this wonderful world of ours and its inexplicable rapid descent to an unsustainable and unlivable future it has to be made complysory reading in all schools and universities Amitave Ghosh describes figuratively Gaia as a Monster but in reality its the collective human brain and brawn which is the real one and its acquisitive desire for resources the references and the contexts are superbly driven by the author am gonna read it again a couple of times more so that it gets more into my system of thinking and working
