Gulabo Shitabo is a leisurely watch. Doesn't really meet the expectations one has from a Shoojit Sarkar movie. What works for the movie is an excellent performance by Amitabh Bachchan. Ayushmann Khurana, Srishti Srivastava and Vijay Raj has also done justice to their roles and lifted the movie to the levels of watchable.
Avik Mukhopadhyay deserves a special mention for beutiful cinematography, capturing the essence and charm of old Lucknow and the Haweli with it's residents beautifully.
Story is the weak link. Juhi Chaturvedi failed to cast the magic this time, the way she did earlier. Narratives are a bit laboured. Many on occasions efforts for generating humour falls flat and that is noticeable. A bit more editing could also have helped.
