"1883" held such promise, but the actual production was just so incredibly disappointing! ... It was Taylor Sheridan's hubris, on steroids! ... From the agonizingly fake southern accent of the 18 year-old narrator - about whom nothing is genuinely heroic - to the unredeemably melancholy undercurrent throughout the entire story .... The cast is stellar -- Tim McGraw; Faith Hill and Sam Elliott -- and Taylor Sheridan is usually a brilliant writer; but he lost his way with "1883" ,,, This is a story told by someone with a terrible hangover - someone depressed and suicidal. I had to fast-forward through most of Episodes 6 through 9, just to keep my sanity; just to get to the end ... What a waste of nearly 10 hours of my life!
Do better, please!
