I’m happy for the scientists and their discovery but me—a non-scientist—was completely baffled at the conjectures of these guys. It was never mentioned that they might have buried their dead to keep predators away. Or that the tool on the child’s hand was merely a favorite and not some left-field notion that they were contemplating an afterlife. The cave markings aren’t just cave markings,(possibly made by later cave visitors) but no less than the blueprint for the human brain. Maybe they are but can we see some counter arguments? And the last quarter of the film was an anthropologist being emotional while showing us the same stuff we’d already seen. I’m very happy for him and love to explore human spirituality but even this woo-woo lover needs more facts.
