This film was just about what I believed it would be. Nowhere near innovative or dazzling, but entertaining enough. I have to give huge credit to the grander visuals that set an atmospheric and spooky scene, and the superb acting that immerses you into the plot. Unfortunately, my greatest gripe is Dracula himself, which I simply believe to have been poorly realized with cheap CGI and frankly lazy design. I'm not sure I understand reviews praising the film's practical effects, because where Dracula was concerned, there were very few. It felt as though the wrong studio handled this project, where masters of horror could have truly made a masterpiece. To me, this simply felt like a half measure unwilling or unable to properly present Dracula in his gruesome glory.
