This film despite highlighting deficiencies in the American Health system and its regulation, is nonetheless hopeful as it cover’s the medical education of young doctors and medical students.
The students are keen to understand where the costs are in the health system and how money can better get to where it is needed. The role of big pharma and the need for an essential medicines list as well as licencing these medicines for production in developing countries is covered. The challenge of Covid 19 to the morale of health workers is also mentioned.
The best thing I noticed in this film is the voice it gives to the creative minds of young medical students and young doctors interacting with their professors who teach about social causes of illness ie poverty, poor housing , poor nutrition and excessive costs of medications in the U.S.
If these students are the future then change in health care provision is certain in the years to come.
