Not remotely realistic but still gripping. 4 episodes in and a lot of unanswered questions... how did it get made? who thought it was a good idea? what are they blackmailing Idris with to get him into this?
Have there been any successful hijackings since 9/11? I think that pretty much ruined the premise of allowing planes controlled by terrorists to remain in the sky - particuarly ones who don't even communicate with authorities.
Why would NATO not have the jets follow the plane just in case. Oh the British government pinky swears you are not going to crash the plane into a building until you get to London? Ok nothing to see here all jets return to base. As we all know terrorists only kill people from their own country.
Also under no circumstances should the jets look in the unshaded and completely visible cockpit windows or comment that there is no one flying the plane. That level of information is of no interest to anyone at all.
Nobody appears very upset that a female passenger was murdered and the body stuffed in the mid-cabin toilet. Admittedly she was Australian but still by all means save the life of the terrorist who may be planning to kill 200+ more passengers because he looks like a nice misguided young man who loves his mum.
Speaking of toilets nobody among the 200+ passengers appears to need to go to the toilet or if they are going in their seats then that plane is going to get pretty smelly.
I am hoping that the Pilot is the next fatality onboard, his gratuitous assault on his female co-pilot is one of the most offensive and cowardly scenes I have witnessed on TV. I added a star because I am looking forward to him dying, horribly and slowly.
So I guess that is successful TV, I am invested in seeing how this plane crash of a show... well yeah... does that, preferably on the corrupt and inept politicians supposedly responsible for stopping that sort of thing.
