It's a good series in the sense that it attracts you and entertains you. Unfortunately, I found as the series progressed it got worse, not in terms of the story, but in certain choices the author made regarding characters. For instance, this is the only book series I've ever read where I found myself hating the main protagonist more and more as the series progressed. She is extremely selfish, hypocritical and naive. Plus, there where two characters the author decided to make gay, which typically I'd be annoyed with, but I was able to see the relevance it had to the arc of a particular character, so I agreed it was for the best. The third character the author decided to make gay was completely unnecessary and had no impact to the story whatsoever. It felt weird reading and noticing the implications being made, I even thought it might have been a typo the first time I came across it. Basically it felt wrong and totally out of place. Bottom line, the books are good and well written. I only had problems with some character choices and some of the choices the characters made.
