Long time fan of the book series. While the tv show has mostly stayed true to the overarching story of the book, there has been much changed in this adaptation. There are certainly things that need to be changed for tv adaptations, but many of the changes feel unnecessary and some are downright completely different. Much of the tv series follows the rule of “tell don’t show” and cuts many of the action sequences 2 seconds in. Characters know things they shouldn’t, Percy is lacking some of the powers he should, and several events are nowhere close to how they happened in the book. Honestly quite disappointed.
