A show that knew how to grab your interest, then knew exactly how to lose it. I didn't know of Kelce beforehand, I just saw someone struggling to act. His acting was so bad it pulled you out of whatever fever dream you're watching. You can name an obvious "killer(s)" by the end of episode 2. I even guessed we were watching someone try to make sense of a world of nonsense. Too easy to guess the mysteries, too much over acting. The dialogue was written for writers, not people who are engaged in story. No matter who they put focus on, it was as if they needed to give you a 15 minute monologue, much of the time to drive the story absolutely nowhere.
If the stage acting dramatic dialogue doesn't get you to feel disoriented, the murders were just a Biblical mockery. Nothing new here, just people hating Christianity while focusing on the flaws of the clergy. Oh and the murders? Ya you just get the aftermath, a shock scene of whatever the killer(s) could dream up. You have exactly 1 minute to digest the scene in question then listen to each character rattle on and on about motives, the Bible, their roles, who there are, who they were... Why do you care? I certainly didn't. Not one character was remotely likeable. Unless you're a Kelce fan girl, then by all means, he's the star. Nicey is wasted in the most literal sense. Everyone argues from their moral high ground or lack thereof.
If you have found yourself watching Ryan Murphy because of his name, maybe you'll find some good in this show. Or you're like myself and wonder what is left of this lemon, I'll tell you it's just the withered seeds. Much like other show runners/writers/creators, it's played out. They no longer connect with their working class watchers and have been black pilled by politics and ideology. You won't have to guess this either, they'll let you know!
I've adored the industry of writing and film making for nearly 4 decades. Maybe it's Western TV, maybe it's the jilted society and decay of modern storytelling. Whatever it is, this show has gifted all of that for you, if you want it. But, if you don't, there's some elegant and amazing
coming out of the East that, if you don't mind a sub or dub, you'll find way more intriguing.
One star total - Half for the gore, even though it was wasted opportunities the other half for the actors who, for the most part, tried to act against this material.
