I'm a pain in the ass as a reader. As someone who writes, albeit mostly as a dilettante, my brain nitpicks language, plot, pacing, etc. It's uncommon when I'm satisfied with an ending. I cannot criticize a single thing about this novel. It's as close to perfection as I can imagine a novel being. It's original but incorporates universal questions and feelings. It's witty, serious, and touching in all the right amounts. Periodically throughout my life I've mused on how people from the past would view our present and if they could ever adapt to it. The author answers that in what I found an absolutely fascinating and believable way. Read this book.
