If you are a Wes Anderson fan, you will love Asteroid City, as it is Anderson perfection. If you’re not a fan, you probably will just be puzzled by the quirky style. With an enormous, recognizable cast filled with Anderson regulars, the plot twists and turns and goes to quite unexpected places. The cinematography, sets, and costumes are outstanding. The plot is indescribable, and there are quite a few funny moments. Let’s just say the plot is complicated, and yet easy to follow at the same time, involving brilliant teenagers, science, playwrights, actors, aliens, grief, romance, and atomic nuclear testing. What does it all mean? Who cares? Sit back and enjoy the rollercoaster ride that is this movie, it definitely ranks as one of Anderson’s best work.
