With some of the Beastie Boys greatest tracks ever recorded on this album it rises to the level of a solid record for the 3 New York rappers. And this album contains some interesting grooves and experimentation. However, overall I think they could have tightened up this album, reducing the run time and dropping some of the instrumental and experimental tracks. While a number of these tracks would have been helpful to break the monotony of some of the tracks where the Boys are rapping in very similar tones and rhythms, I think this album has far too many of them and causes the experience of listening to the album all the way through a bit of a chore.
