Helen Mirren, Celia Imrie, and Ben Kingsley are fine. Pierce Brosnan is a disaster, badly miscast.
This would have been better as a mini-series. The ending was bad, not like the book. I wish I hadn’t watched it.

Quite possibly the most depressing book I have ever read. The usual “life under the Nazis” stories, full of deprivation and devastation. I hated this book. It could have been much shorter and perhaps it would have been more tolerable.
