A stylish film with an elaborate plot. But to my taste, it is way too cold and slow-paced. Its non-linear narrative seems like a smart move at first — but it ends up ruining the flow and the suspense.
Moreover, the characters are somewhat flat, especially the "bad guys". Much as I like both Julianne Moore and Sebastian Stan, I couldn't root for their respective characters at all — so disgusting they were (the characters, I mean — the actors did their best). Maybe that was the whole point, I don't know. But I just didn't get it.
On the bright side, Briana Middleton (Sandy) had a more interesting character to work with, and she did a great job, too. Also, the mixture of cold electronics and emotional jazz tunes in the soundtrack was definitely a good idea.
All in all, Sharper is a good movie to spend one evening with — nothing more, nothing less.
